Arsenal Boosted in Vlahović Chase Amid Juventus Contract Drama

Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Dušan Vlahović could finally pay off, as Juventus are reportedly preparing to part ways with the Serbian striker this summer. The Serie A giants are said to be considering a contract termination, potentially paving the way for Arsenal to swoop in on a free transfer.

The Gunners have admired Vlahović since his breakout at Fiorentina, spending much of the January 2022 window pursuing him. However, the striker opted for Juventus instead, leaving Arsenal empty-handed despite heavy interest. That interest has never faded — and with fresh developments in Turin, Arsenal may now get a second chance.

Juventus consider contract exit for unsettled striker

According to The Mirror, Juventus are weighing the option of terminating Vlahović’s deal, which has just one year left. The striker is reportedly reluctant to sign a new contract, preferring to see out his final year to collect his €12 million salary in full.

Juve had hoped to extend and spread the cost of his wages over a longer term, but talks have stalled. As a result, the club may be forced to cut ties early — though convincing Vlahović to leave without full pay remains a major hurdle.

Arsenal watching closely amid Gyökeres delay

Arsenal could be in prime position if Vlahović becomes available — especially as their top striker target, Victor Gyökeres, remains locked in negotiations. While personal terms with the Swedish international have been agreed, talks with Sporting CP are progressing slowly.

A club delegation has travelled to Lisbon in hopes of securing a deal, but as of now, no agreement has been finalised. Sources suggest a breakthrough may be near, but the uncertainty leaves room for alternatives.

That’s where Vlahović enters the equation. The 24-year-old could become a serious fallback option if the Gyökeres move collapses — or even a rival target if conditions align. Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the Serbian, but Arsenal’s long-term interest gives them a potential edge.

It’s also worth remembering that Arsenal haven’t ruled out a move for Benjamin Šeško, though from a financial standpoint, Vlahović might offer better value if available on a free.

Is Vlahović the right fit for Arsenal?

Vlahović brings Premier League-ready physicality, a proven goal-scoring record in Italy, and the kind of profile Mikel Arteta may value up front. Could he be the striker Arsenal need to reach the next level?

Let us know, Gooners — would you back a move for Vlahović this summer?
